Mathilde Crettaz

Mathilde Crettaz offers a dual perspective rarely found in the technical field: the analytical rigor of a Mechanical Engineer combined with the creative sensitivity of an Industrial Designer. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that products are not only technically viable and compliant but also ergonomic, aesthetic, and user-friendly.

Engineering & Design Expertise

The technical skillset encompasses the full spectrum of product development. It ranges from mechanical modeling and complex assembly optimization to advanced dynamic simulation and finite element analysis.

Uniquely, this engineering background is complemented by strong industrial design capabilities. Expertise extends to product visualization, branding, and the creation of intuitive User Interfaces (UI) for mobile and web applications. This holistic view allows for the management of technical documentation and quality processes while simultaneously ensuring a seamless user experience (UX) and high-quality visual rendering.

Professional Journey

Extensive experience was gained as a Senior R&D Engineer at CSEM (Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology). This pivotal role involved the design and development of cutting-edge wearable systems for the medical sector.

Responsibilities included supervising the mechanical prototyping group and managing complex projects ranging from industrial mandates to European research initiatives. The position required a constant balance between technical feasibility and the ergonomic constraints inherent to portable medical devices.

Visual Identity & User Experience

Beyond core engineering, a sharp eye for aesthetics and visual communication drives the work. Competencies extend to graphic design, branding, and web development, ensuring that technical products are presented with visual coherence.

This artistic sensibility—fueled by a background in visual arts—bridges the gap between complex technology and the end-user. Whether through photorealistic rendering or ergonomic analysis, the goal is always to deliver a product that performs flawlessly and resonates visually with its intended audience
